How we have helped

Here we can explain where the money goes from the local community to help the local community. Of course, some people who we help would rather prefer that their hour of need is not made common news, and I'm sure that a lot of people would understand that we cannot explain all the help we give. Suffice to say that every penny raised goes to good causes. Scunthorpe Lions would also like to thank The Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph for their continued support in promoting the success of some of our donations.

Scunthorpe Lions Club have again been privileged to support Scunthorpe Rugby Club's Under 15's squad at as they prepare for their tour to Barcelona. Not for the first time Lions were asked to help out and willingly donated matching kit bags for the whole squad.
Lion President Brian Patrick commented.. ' It's great to see this group of young people traveling to Spain and representing our Town. We are delighted that we've been able to offer a little assistance to help them on their way. Our gesture is in keeping with a Worldwide commitment of Lions Clubs to support Youth Projects and we hope the team has an enjoyable and successful visit to Barcelona.'

Lion Dave explained that each year the Lion President selects a number of charities, worthy causes and educational organizations which he would like to support during his year of office. This year St Hugh's School was one of a number selected, because of the excellent work, enthusiasm and commitment shown by staff and pupils.
