Changeover Dinners

As part of the annual events in the lions club diary it is customary to officially pass the Presidents chain of office from the outgoing President to the incoming President. This takes place at the changeover meeting where members and partners of the club enjoy a meal and some lighthearted speeches culminating in the passing of the chain of office.

This mound was planted when President Bob Harris handed over to President Graham Wicks on 29th of June 2004
The Mayor was Phil Wood who granted permission for the planting. It cost the council about £3,000 so they don't do it anymore now. They used to grow the plants is the pattern required in Cornwall and then deliver them to town.
